Disappearing PS Print Jobs

I use two HP Laserjet 5000N printers. Both of these printers are installed as post-script printers with the latest HP PS Printer drivers. When I print to these from Photoshop, Quark etc. the job sits in the queue processing for a while and then simply dissappears without printing!! The same two printers are also installed non-postscript on our NT network and have no problems printing day to day.

Does anybody have an idea what might be going wrong with my PS Pinters?

We have something similar and it seems to be when the job name is very long (like 140characters)... typically an internet/intranet page.

I'd be pleased to hear if anyone know a fix for this.

The same jobs print fine on HP4MV and HP8500 colour laser.. but hang on all 3 of our new HP5000 printers.

Thanks to HP help managed to sort this..

Turns out the JET DIRECT card FIRMWARE was at fault.

Our solution was to update to WebJet Admin 6.2 then download latest firmware for the jetdirect card and install it. Now all problem PS jobs go thru fine.

I know this is 3 years out of date at this stage but I have just come across (Feb'04) the same problem printing to the HP Laserjet 5000N from Quark on W2K.
Up to this we had been printing to the same HP Laserjet 5000N from a MAC with no problems.
After much hair pulling I discovered in the Print set up for Quark select 'Clean 8-bit' in the Options>Pictures>Data option and all files printed fine. Before changing this setting the quark print set up was binary and would only print 'Rough' resolution.
