Disappearing guides

Hi,

I've created a new master but find that when I drag it down it down to the document section of the Pages palette, the guides no longer appear.

I've checked that the all layers are visible and that guides are showing -- does anyone have any idea why they don't show?

Thanks
Sam

Are the guides on the pasteboard? If so, then they're not going to show up on a document page...unless you have ID CS, and the guides are positioned in the bleed and/or slug areas.

The workaround for ID2 would be to select the guides on the pasteboard and copy and paste them on the doc pages...or select them and add them to an InDesign library...from which you can use the Place Items command to drop them on any new page in their original locations.

But, the question remains, are they on the pasteboard?

I've set the magnification to 12.5% and they are definitely not on the pasteboard. They are fine in the master but don't appear when dragged down. I'm using ID 2.

Problem solved -- don't know how though!

I selected the master and duplicated it. When this is dragged down, the guides appear as they should. When I drag the old one down, they don't.

Does anyone know why this is so?
