POS Gurus,

I have a very strange problem. This is Aloha TS Version 5.3.20 (yes, I know PCI violation, etc.) running on Server 2000. Here's the issue, a server clocks in, they are toggled to use the "work with tables" screen(s). They choose whether they want to see the floor plan for the bar or dining area. When they do, they can see all of the tables in the center and left of the screen. Running vertically along the right, they can see all of the function buttons such as View Floor Plan, View Function, Last Item Ordered, Table Owner, Table Open Time, Standard View, Check # View, Combine Tables, Detach Tables and Exit.

However, when any server toggles between viewing the Dining floor plan and then the Bar floor plan, (or vice versa) all of those buttons I described above just disappear! If they stay on either one or the other floor plan ONLY, the function buttons are available, but as soon as they exit one floor plan and choose the other, they all go away! I went to the back to look at these floor plans in the screen editor and it behaves the exact same way! I can't figure it out. Why would navigating between screens erase the function buttons? The problem is that the servers routinely have tables both in the bar and the dining area, so I need this to work. I've tried to delete the indexes in case maybe something became corrupt, but that doesn't resolve anything.

So, once the servers have had this happen, they can't run any of the function buttons they need to in order to do their jobs.

I hope I'm describing this right. Hopefully, someone can please tell me what to do to resolve this, as right now I've had to make all of the waitress just open tabs instead of working with tables.

Thanks!

Charles

Your panels are not built correctly. The floor plans all have to be built the same size. If dinning room is built full screen, when you open it it will cover the function buttons. Check your chain buttons, make sure the function panel is listed in them.

Thanks for the reply Bo. The strange part is, that the panels have not been messed with and they're not looking expanded. The area with buttons along the right side turn black. They aren't pushed or covered. I can check, though. Will you tell me how I check the chain buttons and make sure the panel is listed in them, please?

As always, thanks for your help Bo. You're always a great resource for me.

Go to screen editor and check the base screen that they are assigned too. Make sure it looks right.
In panel editor, the buttons that change the floor plan from one room to another are chain buttons. Check those and make sure they look right. Sounds like someone delteted something. Don't have it in front of me to be more specific but thats the basics. Sounds like the button that chains you to a new room doesn't have the function panel defined in it.
