When I have to do a lot of document editing, I normally flip one of the screens to portrait view. The problem is some dialogs, eg advanced properties, appear in a non visible area
Code:
_________________ __________
| | | |
| Screen 1 | | Screen 2 |
|________________| | |
                     | |
 dialog _____ | |
 appears |_____| | |
 here |__________|
Quite often, I'm staring at screen 2 when the dialog has appeared on screen 1. Sometimes only part of the title bar appears. When that happens, I can drag it up but if the whole dialog appears below screen 1, how do I move it to a visible area. Alternatively is there a way to always force such dialogs to appear on the screen that invoked them.

Try hitting Alt+Space, then M, then the appropriate arrow key(s). For example, if the dialogue is in the position shown in your diagram, keep hitting the up arrow to move it to Screen 1, or the right arrow for Screen 2. Once the dialogue becomes visible, press Enter.

I'd forgotten about that one. Thanks for reminding me.

Used to happen when the laptop was used with a high resolution monitor and then shut down and disconnected. When the applications were restarted, they remembered where they last were, which, if the monitor was not connected, was off the screen.

Alt+Space, then M also puts your cursor in the middle of the title bar, so you can either use arrow keys or just click, hold the mouse down, and move your dialog box this way. [pc]

There is a great need for a sarcasm font.

With WIN KEY + LEFT (RIGHT) ARROW you can dock the window to the left or right half of the screen, next if you drag it, it undocks and returns to previous size.

Does not work with word, but moves LO modal windows.
