Lately I've had users try to log in to the network and they have not been able to access their My Documents folder that I've stored on the NT Server--- but they can SEE the folder in network neighborhood. after starting and stopping the server services everything's fine--
How can I correct this problem. They seem to only be on certain machines, the OLDER machines- namely the AcerPower's. It will start with one and slowly affect machine by machine. It can take from three to one week befor the service needs to be restarted. What give's- Any idea's???
You can shut the server service off on the workstations if you have no shared resources on them. Each machine is polling for a browse list which increases traffic and does not need to.

I will try that tomorrow when I go back down to the site-- BUT to thicken the mix; two users lost access after restarting the server service on the server in just 4 hours.
I can't figure it out!!
thanks for the advice snicks2- that, hopefully, will lengthen the time between service restarts.
how about modifying the browser service on the machines?

auto/enable-- which one, if the machine shares resources, would be best ?
