Is there a way, through a GPO or registry setting, to disable the System Log event that is produced when a particular service is started/stopped?

I have one service in particular that is hammering my System Log when an application starts up then shuts down.

For example:

Event ID 7035 The xx service was successfully sent a Start Control
Event ID 7036 The xx service entered the stopped state
Event ID 7036 The xx service entered the running state

Don't think the OS has any control of that, you may want to take a look at how your application logs events to the event log.

in the properties of the system event viewer you can uncheck "informational" logs

Obviously that will stopp ALL informational logs from being generated. I guess there is no way to stop one specific informational event from being logged

Actually it wont stop them from being generated, it will just filter them out until you check the Information box under Event types and they will still be there
