I have installed some dictionary softwares and they have the plugins for Word. So each time Word starts, it loads even the dictionary services etc. How can I disable these in Word?

thanks

It depends what type of addin it is.

If it's a 'normal' AddIn, go to Tools > Templates and AddIns and uncheck it in the list.

If it's a COM AddIn, it may be awkward but first thing to do is add the COM AddIns button to your Tools menu, so go to Tools > Customize > Commands tab and select Tools in the left hand list and then click and drag "COM ADDIns" from the right hand list onto your Tools menu, Close the dialogue and the Select Tools > COM AddIns from the menu and uncheck it in the list.

If you still haven't stopped it you may need to do a registry edit.

Enjoy,
Tony
