When I close Outlook 2003 without closing all the related Windows, I keep getting "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close." (Blah, Blah, Blah) And then it has a check box to restart Outlook. This is so annoying as it wants to automatically restart Outlook... I WANTED TO CLOSE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE !! Any help would be muchly appreciated.

How are you closing Outlook? Are you using File, CloseAll?

What happens if you select File, CloseAll?

Then it's fine, but shouldn't Outlook be intelligent enough to do that on it's own? Word and Excel will automatically close all windows if you close them...

You can use Tools, Customise and drag the File, CloseAll command to the toolbar and close it from there. But I agree it is unusual. Have you tried running Detect and Repair from the Help menu to make sure there isn't a problem with the installation?
