Disabling new hardware detection on boot up

Hey people,

I am trying to make a bootable win98 CD that will work across 3 different spec Workstations. I really need to know if it's possible to disable the hardware detection when Win98 boots up e.g. "New hardware found - installing drivers" etc...." Is this possible? I appreciate any suggestions....
