Hi,

Is there setting in MS Outlook 2000 to disable the following message and allowing emails to be sent with having to click [Yes]?:

A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf.

Do you want to allow this?

If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No"

[Yes] [No] [Help]

The reason why I need this message disabled is because I have an application that uses Outlook to send email, and also some Excel VBA files that also use Outlook to send email.

Any help on this will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Dabase

In Outlook express, under the Tools/options menu, select the security tab and there is a check box 'Warn me when other applications try to send mail as me'. By default this is selected. If OE has this option then i'm sure 2000 should too, maybe in the same place?

This is caused by the Outlook e-mail security update which is an attempt by MS to curb the spread of virii. In sumary, there are 3 possible solutions which you can find all over this forum by searching:

1. Uninstall & Reinstall Outlook 2K and do not apply the SP's (this is probably not practical or a good idea)

2. Use a third party tool such as Push the Freakin Button or Clickyes (still not practical for other people's sytems and not a good idea for those with questionable anti-virus status)

3. There is supposedly a way to athenticate/authorize/certify your VBA code that will allow it to execute without this prompt. I have no personal experience with this, but I have seen it discussed several times in the MS Office forum forum68 or the VBA forum forum707

Anyone know where this option is in Outlook 2002?

Thanks in advance

Penny :)

PennyB, that option does not exist in Outlook 2002 (or 2000).
