Disabling Merlin Messaging still in Carrier

Due to some feature functionality not available on the Merlin Messaging, I replaced the voicemail with a new external one. Calling group changes made to 770. Removed the old ports from all calling groups, etc. BUT, I am still getting message lights sent to extensions (and I have been able to test and prove that the NEW system is not sending them - via logging). It appears to be a constant to the same repeated extensions. I have manually deleted the message lights as they appear (showing FROM MM port xxxx) , but they will normally reappear in only a couple of hours (when no messages are waiting in the new VM).

What have I missed that is allowing the MM to still send out Indicator lights?

Would busying out the board (where the MMess is located) altogether cause a problem?
Thanks for any thoughts of help you can give me - I am stumped.
PS: I wanted to remove the MMess Card (slot) from the switch altogether, but was informed that doing so would VOID the warranty (with Expanets) on my entire switch.

You should be able to busy the board with no problems but the message waiting lights are done through rotary. Go to extensions>rotary and take out the ports of the voicemail. Hope this is what you are looking for..

You should have deleted all of the messages in the mailboxes on the old system or better yet delete the mailboxes. You could default the old system or you might want to try removing the port licence card

What I would do though is:
1. temporarily Program the old ports in group 770.
2. Delete the culprit mailboxes.
3. switch the programming back to the new VM.
OR
4. If you have a merlin messaging you can go in through the LAN port using the GUI interface and delete ALL of the user mailboxes.

If you have a list of culprit extentions and the login and programming tree ready to go, the whole process should only take a few minutes.

Even if you busy out the card you may have the problem reappear after a power failure, and if you just un-enable rotary enable you still have those ports going off hook and trying to dial codes the system dosen't understand and may cause weird problems down the road.
