Hi,

I need to find a way that I can limit certain users access to the internet. What I want is a browser configuration script that will allow users to browse intranet pages but will redirect them to an "Error" page if they attempt to browse the internet.

I am already using a script which I have set using Group Policy to configure other browsers to browse the net but I can't figure out how to modify it to do what I want.

Help!

Use a proxy server for all connections and do the redirection from that level. Or for a low-tech solution, send out an updated HOSTS file that forces all to the intranet (unless they are an authorised user in which case give them a different HOSTS file) - easy for the users to bypass if they know how :)

Cheers,
Jeff

In our network we have a win 2000 server X.X.X.5 and a netgear firewall X.X.X.6 using a DSL modemn. If I want a user to have access to the internet and the intranet I give them a default gateway of X.X.X.6. To disable the internet I give them a default gateway of X.X.X.5 (the ip ot the file server)
