Disabling Direct Paging

Hi All,

Is there a way to disable direct paging? We have 53xx phones and are running 8.0UR3 on clustered 3300s. The feature code for Direct Paging is blank, but users can still program their 53xx phones and direct page.

Is there a way to turn off the Direct Paging ability or restrict its use?

Look for Group Page in the COS

Still able to page.

Try setting handsfree answer back to No in the COS

Correction on the version number. This system still on 7.1.4.9_1.

The users are HotDesk users (same COS settings as above) if that makes any difference.

Is your Pager access all zones set to No in the COS?

remove them from the paging zone, default is "1"

Needed to look this one up in the help files.

As you have found, it appears that you cannot disable set to set Direct page.

The group page COS options only affect Page Groups.

From the help files:

All phones and attendant consoles can initiate a Direct Page but only those phones with a built-in speaker can receive one.
