Hi Everyone, do any of you know of an easy way to disable enable a NIC from the command prompt? I'd like a way to re-enable a net card from the log off script.

Many Thanks
Colm

Don't know a way to totally disable the NIC, but how about the following.

Use the Net Stop command to stop the Workstation and Server services.

That'll pretty much remove the NIC from service.

Depending on the PCMCIA adapter, some require the rights to run as a service.

You should explore what is available under Scheduled Tasks, as this allows you 'at Startup' and 'at Logon' to pass alternate credentials, something that some wireless adapters will require to initialize properly.
