Disabling an <OPTION> tag

e.g. <OPTION disabled>Frogs on toast</OPTION>

Is there any way to get this to work in IE? It seems to work in Mozilla (

http://www.mozilla.org/quality/browser/standards/html/option_disabled.html)

but I've tried IE 5.5/6 and in both cases I am able to select the option that is supposed to be disabled...

Any help is appreciated. Miles

Doesn't look like IE supports it in a Option Tag:

On a separate issue, you should try to avoid minimising attributes. It is not allowed in XHTML so it's good practice to avoid doing it in HTML. It'll make transition easier when you eventualy upgrade.
