Disabling & then enabling Norton disconnects internet

I'm not sure what the problem is, but when ever I disable and then enable norton my connection drops for a few moments. This also happens randomly from time to time without working with norton. Any ideas?

As my doctor would say, "If it hurts when you do that, quit doing that!"

What version are you running? Why do you "disable and then enable norton"? The product is intended to run continuously.
