Howdy everyone,
One of our sites today had an interesting problem. One of the users got a hold of the passwords and managed to disable all the mailboxes.
You get the auto-attendant, at the end of the auto-attendant message Nortel nancy says, "If you are a touch-tone dialer please hit 1 now, if you are a rotary dialer, please standby." No matter what mailbox you enter it says it is invalid. Maybe this will discourage them from playing with the programming for now on.
Old friend said it had something to do with the "Touch Tone Gateway." But he couldn't remember how to get into it.
Any ideas?

NEVER HEARD OF TOUCH TONE GATEWAY OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

You may have two problems. First the Touch Tone Gate is used in service areas with large numbers of rotary customers. To disable the feature log in as admin (F983) Press AA (centre softkey, then press the digit 1 and follow the prompts to disable.

If the mailboxes are disabled the customer may have turned the mailboxes off for external callers. Again log in as admin (F983) Press digit 4 and confirm Voice Mail is set to "Y"

Thanks for the reply rstar. It was indeed the touch tone gate. Never heard of this one before. Good info, thanks again.
