Is there a way to disable a files xtensions before opening it?

I have this quark 7 file I need to convert all the way back to 5 and it keeps crashing on opening. I'm thinking xTension. But it could be anything.

Anyway to tell Quark to ignore the xtensions on opening?

Thanks
Eugene

Hi eugenetyson
Before you open that file you can go under Utilities/Extensions Manager and turn off all extensions or uncheck and turn off whichever you choose.
That may or may not allow you to open the file.
Hope this helps
