Disable Vacant Extensions

I would like to be able to temporarily disable vacant and unassigned extensions at desks when not is use so no one can use the handset for internal or external calls without having to delete it or change all the buttons. What would be the best way to do this in Manager?

Forced login with a login idle period to log the handset off when not in use (this will need to be adjusted based n your particular usage requirements)

Depends on the version but you can disable a user on the latest release. I don't know from which version this is possible.

Manager> Hot desk (telephony log in for each user) then user rights for no user.
Then log the phones out.
