Hi friends,
Happy New Year!
we have a web application with home index URL in frame structure. My boss does like that users can see page link information in status bar by mouse over items in application. Otherwise, we do not need to use URL index ( address never change during moving page in application).

Do we have any way to do disable status bar in browser?

You can ask the browser to disable the status bar when opening a new window (using window.open), but in some modern browsers, this request will be ignored due to security concerns.

Hope this helps,
Dan

I am guessing that the web site is in a frameset because of a cheap domain package that your "Boss" is using. These cheap domain packages allow you to "mask" the true URL of your website by providing a frameset that frames your real content (hosted at some other location - like geocities).

If your "Boss" truly wants a solution - recommend they get a proper domain hosting package that allows them to host on the named domain and won't require any masking or frames to try and look more "professional".

There are so many cheap hosting packages available now - there is no reason why a company should use these antiquated techniques to attempt credibility.

Cheers,
Jeff
