Disable speakers on eMac?

I'm running OS X Tiger on many eMac units in a lab. I'd like to disable the speakers on the front of the computer but still allow the headphone jack to work. Simply putting a mini plug into the headphone jack to turn the speakers off won't be good enough, because the people I'm dealing will simply unplug it to get the speakers back on.

Is there any way I can configure the speakers to not work without having to open each computer and unplug the speakers manually?

I believe the speakers are wired in series with the headphone jack. So the only way to disable them would be to open the unit and disconnect the wires.
