All,

I have a Win2K3 server that is running an app which I want to be visible on the screen at all times. For some reason, it continues to activate the screensaver and locks the server even though I have made an attempt to turn everything off.

On the Display Properties tab I have set the screensaver to none. I've changed the power settings to never hibernate or anything else.

Lastly, this machine is not part of a domain, so there is no group policy object applied to it.

where else do I need to look?

Our servers lock up also, i believe that's a security feature provided by MS to make sure that no one has access to your server when you're away....even if you have a server behind lock & key.

I could be wrong but I believe that's just how server03 is programmed for 'protection'.

volleyman,

Have you tried unticking the "on resume, password protect" on the screensaver tab?

Also, check the local policy...

Regards,

Michael

You have to edit the registry. MS KB185348 explains how. Scroll down to the section "Disable the logon screen saver".

Cheers.
