How do I disable "0" as an option, that it returns to automated attendant? I am using Partner Messaging 7.0 for the PC to program my system.

Thanks,
YLP

I would just change the Dial 0/timeout action to repeat the menu. Dont forget to change both the night and day menus.

You can do what I did. Create a dummy mailbox that is announcement only, point the "0" option at it for the day and night greeting and record a message in that mailbox that says invalid option or whatever. After they hear the message it will disconnect them.

Repeat sounds like the perfect option, but it is not available under the Automated Attendant.

I have only the following options,
1. Call Anwser Service Operator Extension
2. General Mailbox Extension
3. Mailbox Extension
4. Extension
5. Disconnect

Please advise

I do not want it to disconnect the caller, fondog2. But what I could do is, if there is no repeat option as suggested by "telcomtekperson" for the automated attendant, is I could create a dummy mailbox that informs the caller that "0" is not a valid option and return to the automated attendant.

Thanks,

Doug

Allthough I'm NOT a fan of this but you could have it transfer to an unused extension that is looped back to an unused line port that is answered by auto attendanton "0" rings.

So what other option do I have. I did not find any where to tell the system to repeat, this seems like a fairly easy thing to achieve.

thanks

The choices you listed are the only ones you have unless you do a "LOOP BACK

Is the loopback the same as one of the options I listed previously?

Thanks

Partner Messaging 7 - Here's what you do:

Create a guest mailbox that points to the Auto Attendant - Log into the System Administrator's mailbox, 9 for Programming, 2 for Extensions, Dial the guest extension number (doesn't matter, use 51 for instance), 3 to assign it to an Auto Attendant, dial 1-4 for which AA, and 6 for No Phone.

Now set your 0 selector code to transfer to Ext. 51.

If you want, also give 51 Auto VMS Cover, and 1 ring for VMS Cover Rings, and you can test or demo the Auto Attendant by dialing Intercom 51.

No, a Phantom mailbox is one that plays its outgoing message, but its incoming message is recorded in another mailbox.

Not to be confused with Auto Copy, where a mailbox plays its outgoing message, and the incoming message goes to BOTH its inbox AND another mailbox's inbox.

A "Guest" mailbox is one that is not associated with a physical phone. Perhaps you have an outside salesperson who needs to receive voice mails, but doesn't have a desk at the office. Give him a mailbox with an extension number that doesn't conflict with your actual phones (currently being used, and allowing for future growth). Keep the guest mailbox number at 57 or LOWER, and you'll be able to transfer callers directly to the mailbox from your Partner phones.

In the "old days" we commonly refered to "Guest" mailboxes as "phantoms", but not that Avaya has stuck that title in there, we need to be careful with usage of terms.

Touchtonetommy,
Thanks! Ok I am looking to follow your instructions. Where do I go to setup a guest mailbox and how will I instruct this to point back to the Automated Attendant?

YLP

TouchToneTommy,
Ok, Got the Guest Mailbox setup. I am still looking to point it to the AA. I am using PC software to program. It appears from your instructions that the settings are being handled at the phone level.
If you are able to guide me in programming the remaining items through the software... that would be great.
I am back to hunting around for the appropriate settings.

thanks for all your assistance here and on my other post.

YLP

OK, from the GUI

Click on the Extension Wizard

Click that you want to make an Automated Attendant Extension

Give it a number and tell it which AA to go to

Don't remeber off hand where you set the phone status. If you have it set to "with a phone", then you MUST program the ACS to recgonize the extension as having voice mail. #310-XX-1, and #321-XX-1

Then, at the Auto Attendant, Day or Night Menu, click on the 0 option, use Transfer to Extension, and pick the Extension that you just made.
