Ok someone asked me this but I wasn't sure what they meant either so I decided to look around for an answer. Apparently they were having problems disabling POP3 while keeping SMTP and LDAP enabled? I found how to install SMTP without installing POP3. Is LDAP installed seperate from POP3?
In Windows-based networks LDAP = Active Directory. (or if you have a very old mail system, Exchange 5.5)
So to stop LDAP from listening, the system must have the domain controller role removed.
