Hi
I need help to disable the on-board video chip, as I have purchased a New Video card.

I have a HP Pavilion 710 the Motherboard is a ASUS TUSL-L I've been trying to find a Manual for this motherboard but to no success.

I've tried the HP website but to no avail.

Please help

Nickotine.

Enter the bios and go to the advanced section .
Enter I/O device configuration .
There should be entrys for onboard ac97 modem & ac97 audio controller
default set to auto .
Set this to disabled.

Sorry i misread (thought it was audio ) your post.
Iv'e not been able to find info about bios settings in TUSL-L ,.However the board should autosence that an AGP card is inserted ,and automaticly disable onboard video .
If it's in the bios it will be found under the advanced section ,possibly under PCI configuration .
And you would also want to set "INIT DISPLAY = AGP first"

Phew, I don't know what all the fuss was about!

Entered the bios set the 'INIT DISPLAY' to AGP, rebooted, P&P detected it, Installed drivers and away we went.

Thanks.

I also want to disable the onboard AGP graphics, as I have installed a Radeon 7500 PCI card. The onboard graphics were 7MB with shared memory up to 64 MB, but would not run a new game, but there was no AGP slot. The game now runs, but it is incredibly slow and the suspicion is that the there is a conflict between the two cards. I shut off the SiS onboard profile, but it keeps getting recognized at boot up. Also, the PCI card is in IRQ 11, which is shown to be shared with IRQ HOlder for PCI steering; the Radeon 7500; and SiS 7001 PCI to USB open host controller (twice). The machine uses AmiBIOS, but I am not sure where to disable the onboard graphics. Thanks.

I'm sure there are one PCI slot with non shared irq.
Move the graphic card to that one.
Or use the bios to manually allocate irq .
