Disable Norstar Nancy completley

Hi all. My first post here, ive been reading lots of stuff about turning norstar nancy off and nothing ever definative so here it goes.

I have a client who doesnt want any of that chatty nortel nancy stuff. I have got it down to her just saying "the opperator is not available".then GM greeting I have aa on ccr tree off and only mail box is 10

I need 1 mail box to answer line 1 in 1 ring and line 2 and 3 in 4 rings, say leave a message and start recording...that simple

Can she be silent and never say a word

You said you have AA on... so turn it off in AA/Lines/XXX/AA=NO

As for being picking on the lines you only have two choice:

Option 1- AA answers and be set to any ring count including 0 and record a greeting

Option 2- Forward the phone that has the particular lines to voice mails DN via Capabilities

Problem here is you would need Line 1 to Appear and Ring on one phone and Lines 2 and 3 the same on another phone.


Seems like they are better off having there AA and CCR setup properly.

It's the ring count being different on each of the 3 lines that is the chore here....can you expand on why different ring counts? and does it all have to go to the same mailbox?
Are these lines assigned to Appear & Ring on all sets? or mixed bag? how many rings required for each line?
Are they 3 separate companies?

The only thing I can think of since Flashtalk only has 2 Tables is to have one phone answer one line that has the longest amount of rings and each Table answer the other 2 lines with some trickery to get to a mailbox fast without the prompts.

Example
Ext 221 is programmed to CFNA to vmails DN at 4 rings
Line 1 goes to 221's mailbox

Line 2 is answered by AA at 3 rings, Table/1 Atdnt is set to 000, Greeting 1 and AA Menu Prompt is recorded as a second of silence, CCR 1 path 0 record to say to continue press 1, path 1 is LVMSG to mailbox XXX
Line 2 is answered by AA at 2 rings, Table/2 Atdnt is set to 000, Greeting 2 and AA Menu Prompt is recorded as a second of silence, CCR 2 path 0 record to say to leave a message press 1, path 1 is LVMSG to mailbox XXX

Yep different ring counts on each line, bummer right? here I have to run out to my van to get the paper

OK,.,.

Its line one rings 1x, 2 rings 3 x and line4 3 rings 3x.

his voice and beep. Would be nice if they could all go to the same mail box too. Wishful thinking huh?

Do you not know the reasons for the specific ring counts?
1 ring is not much time to answer a phone....you might as well set it to 0 to put yourself out of misery instead of having to listen to one ring.

I would just tell them that it's the phone systems default feature and to deal with it. lol. They shouldn't have bought a well equipped phone system if you don't like all the juggernut from Nancy or as I call Meridian Mary....in reality Joan Kenley.

He's retired but still gets calls for 2 companies, his and his wife's, they pretty much just go to voice mail. Appear and ring is something I have room to play with.

Turns out ring count is more important than my favroit one so far "Bionic Betty" by curlycord...agreed he should have got a better set up considering what he paid for this set up...Back then he could have got a brand new NEC DSX with a much more powerful O.S. for running multiple companies
