Disable invoice no field

Hi

I need to make invoice no field readonly while the keeping forward, reverse, finder and new buttons active.

I mean user will not be able to make nay changes to invoice no text box but he will be able to click on new or forward reverse buttons.

OE invoice objective is to prevent users accidently entering some other charectors in the invoice no field

Then the answer is no. You'll have to make a custom screen.

I was thinking about other way of doing it,
disable the exiting post button and add one more post button and whenever user clicks on post button put the default value (*** NEW ***) to invoice no field and then post the document.

I am not sure we can put our own button for posting/updating button. if it is possible can we just put the code from macro that is being executed when post button is pressed?
