Hi All.

As the subject says, I'd like to disable the export and refresh options of the DHTML viewer. It seems the tek-tips search engine is not working... so forgive me if this has been asked before.

I know about disabling the ActiveX and Java options; however, DHTML is prefered because I won't need to go and install Java on the locked down workstations! =)

Are there actually files that are parsed to make the DHTML viewer?

Thanks in advance.

Neither of these are supported in CE 8.5

Check the admin guide for Viewers->Modifying Settings.

A BIG disadvantage to the DHTML viewer is printing, and as you see, there are other restrictions and horrors in formatting - they might rethink their position on using post 1998 technology.

If not, perhaps the network admin can walk around some evening and install them all? ;)

Thanks for the reply!

It seems that the tek-tips search works again, and I was able to find a previous, similar post. We're using CE8.0, so I don't know if it applies to 8.5, but there are HTML files that can be edited to comment out the export and refresh (and nav) buttons. Really simple once I knew where to look.

Here's the kbase URL over at Crystal's site.

Oh, and, we don't want this group of users printing these reports, so the DHTML limitation here won't be a problem, I hope.

Regards!
