Hi,

I'm wondering.. is there a possibility to disable the back button in the browser ??

cause it's quite a problem when you are looking at a full flash environment..

thanx

Nope...trust me, I've tried everything to even touch that stupid back button and you can't do it...

I was going to try and catch the back button call and have it integrate with my flash movie so the back button called things through flash...but to no avail, javascript forum said no, html/css forum said no, I've even asked microsoft...but there is a PLANNED onforward and onback function or something for nets-crap...I mean, netscape, but that was over a year ago that it was planned...lol Regards,

The only possible workaround for this would be to open up your site in a fullscreen popup without the tool bar, address bar and whatever else you want to get rid of. Since a completely "naked" fullscreen ("naked" as a projector file would be!) is only possible with IE and not with NS, my suggestion, if you decide to go this route, would be to keep the border and the standard upper right close box & stuff. You can set it so that it won't be resizable, but of course, it can allways be moved out of the way, giving you access to the opener window (laying behind) where you could hit the back button that you can't get rid of in that window! But it's a little more work for the user and he may not be inclined to do so.
Come to think of it, maybe you can close the opener window, when the other fullscreen one is opened... I'll have to look into that!

Other consideration that comes to mind is what resolution the user is set at. The same Flash file, especially if your scaling it, can look pretty odd when scaled up to fullscreen.
And another annoying thing, apparently the use of the AOL browser won't allow a fullscreen window. I'll have to check in to that, when I come back from my vacation!

Nothing's perfect!

Hey....hehehehe....maybe if it's for IE only users...that fullscreen thing could work to your advantage...make your OWN toolbars...but I REALLY dont think you want that to be done...lol

But that would be something cool for say, a startup site that maybe made a start bar for you...hehe...start IE, it replaces its menu bars w/ custom ones, and you can browse from there?...ehh, I'm just wacko, and thinking...(I'M a WEIRDO!) Regards,

With your close links to them, maybe you can talk management in establishing a new category of users!
In your case, Wacko may be more appropriate than Programmer!

BTW, lucky you! Going on vacation for 2 weeks, so I won't Wack you as usual during that time!
Don't forget your light sabor pratice!
