Is there a way to turn off the autosave on forms? I basically want a way to ask the user if they are sure they want to make the changes.

autosave on forms
I guess you're talking about an AccessForm ?
In the BeforeUpdate event procedure of the form:
If MsgBox("Are you sure you want to make the changes ?", vbYesNo) <> vbYes Then
Cancel = True
Exit Sub
End If

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks for the help PHV. What you said worked but if they change the field and then click no in the do you want to update message box is there a way to get that value to revert to what it was? Sorry I am new with access.
