I have a Word document (template) where I have some text like this:

Some text
1. Whatever
2. Something
3. The end

Then I add the same template again to the doc I am working with, so I would expect to have:

Some text
1. Whatever
2. Something
3. The end

Some text
1. Whatever
2. Something
3. The end

But I get:

Some text
1. Whatever
2. Something
3. The end

Some text[red]
4[/red]. Whatever[red]
5[/red]. Something[red]
6[/red]. The end

Numbering keeps 'going on', but I don't want numbers to increase.
I did follow suggestion of How to Disable Automatic Numbering and Bulleting in Word but the numbers keep increasing even with the Automatic Numbered list is unchecked.

Is there other setting I need to know about to disable the numbering in Word?

There is a great need for a sarcasm font.

The link refers to disabling automatic conversion of paragraph starting with number to numbered list.
Copy of numbered list will continue numbering in previous list. It is possible to restart numbering from the popup menu after right-clicking any number.
Another option is to change numbering style ( However, in older article, they say it is not recommended (

Thanks combo,
The issue is 'kind-of' resolved, user wants bullets instead.

Case closed. :)

There is a "continue numbering from previous"option to uncheck.

Right-click on the offending number.
