Disable Alerts in Access 97?

Most of my VBA experience is in using Excel. I'm working on a project in Access 97 that will import a few hundred large text files and perform a set of action queries after each import. With each iteration, I get 4 or 5 dialog boxes ("You are about to append x lines", "You are about to update x lines", etc.) Is there an Access equivalent to Excel's handy 'Application.DisplayAlerts = False'? This process when run will take many, many hours. To have to sit here and click "ok" 600 times would be a nightmare.

Thanks

I should clarify, just turning off alerts in the options menu may not be an option. This app will be used by people who need these switches on. In addition to the standard confirmation dialogs that pop up, I also run into warnings about disk space ("You will not be able to undo this operation..."). This error will occur on every one of the dog machines in this office. I always want to proceed at this warning point. Is there a way to turn this off too?
