I want to turn off the alarm alerting on the 5500 console software. I didn't see anything under the class of service and haven't used the console software other than installing and handing over to the receptionist. Our receptionist is easily alarmed and I would have fewer headaches if I could disable this "feature". Any help would be appreciated.

There is no way to disable this feature through the console.
It is a feature so that the console is aware of alarm status of the system.

thanks for the quick response, right now when the 3300 goes to critical alert, the console phone starts ringing to alert the receptionist. I cannot find where that is configured and at least I would like to disable that. Any idea?

you need to identify the alarm and then change the threshold so that it does not report when critical

first enter SHOW FAULT ALARM (this should identify the alarm and it's status)

Let's say it is a ICP comm alarm that will report critical on 100% failure ( 0 25 100)

you need to enter SET THRESH ICP N 100 N (N IS NONE) this will now report a 100% loss as a major and not a critical
