My access database has security groups setup that only allow certain abilities. However, I didn't see any security to prevent a user from writing macros.
One of my users doesn't know any VB programming, but they like to play around and write their own macros when they use the access database. Is their a way to prevent this from happening and disable the ability to write macros, yet still allow my VB code to run?

Hey John.

Create a copy of the database for backup purposes.

In the Production version of the database go to Tools/Startup and deselect the Show Database Window option. There are other options too you may choose to deselect in case you want to limit menu options, etc.

If you deselect the Show Database Window option, you can easily reopen the database window if needed while the app is running by clicking F11.

If you deselect allowing any menu options, you can hack into the code by selecting the database file and using the Shift - Enter combination holding down the Shift key until the app opens. You'll be able to see your queries, code, etc. then.

Hope this helps.
