Dirsync to foreign Exchange system

Am I being stupid, have I missed something here?
How do I connect our E2K domain to ANOTHER foreign E2K domain and share our address book? Both forests (companya.com & companya.co.uk, don't ask!)have private connectivity over a WAN though are seperate.

I assume that somehow I import users as custom recipients in to our AD and export to the foreign system likewise but how to do it?

Information on this topic seems a bit sparse.
