directx 7 download

I wanna play a game that takes directx 7, however my computer has directx 9. I really dont care to have the latest version since I use this computer just to fool around. Could someone tell me where I could download the directx 7. I could not find any link on google. thanks

For reference:
Windows 98 SE comes installed with DirectX 6.1
Windows ME comes installed with DirectX 7.1
Windows 2000 comes pre-installed with DirectX 6.1
Windows NT SP3 installs DirectX 3.0

If you have XP installed with a higher version of DirectX it will not be easy to uninstall that to install 7.1 as there is no uninstall procedure.

Have you tried running your game in compatibility mode of an older operating system?

Have you considered using Virtual PC to install Windows ME?

DirectX is fully backwards compatible as far as I know - if the game won't play, it's unlikely installing an older version of DirectX will help. Unless of course it's a bug in the game where it won't recognise newer versions of DirectX properly....
