I need to learn a new server's file trees quickly so would like to be able to see a 'tree' of the directories from my starting point to the bottom of the structure. Don't care about the contents, just the directory names with relative path info.

System us HP Unix.

Any thoughts?

Tnx.

Tom

OK how about

find / -type d -print | more

if that doesn't do it:

man find

HTH,

You may create a script named, say, dirtree:
Code:
#!/bin/ksh
find ${1-.} -type d | sort | sed -e 's;[^/]*/;|____;g;s;____|; |;g'

Hope This Helps, PH.
