I migrated to linux enviornment recently. I am wondering why the topic "dirctory service" is not discussed in linux.

In windows, network wide directory service ( windows NT domain or active directory in later windows releases) play main role in networking.

any thing similar to this ?

For a full featured DS, check out the one AD was poorly modelled on, Novell's eDirectory.

Thanks, will above servers support windows client? (may be i am in the wrong forum.. :) )

These are not server OS packages. They are services that will run on most OS's.
