Directory Server 4.1 on AIX 5.1 help required

Installed & configured as per instructions, the problem is when trying to use the Web Admin interface it will not accept the username/password combo as defined during the configuration.

What am I missing? IBM docs don't help any.

This is what I have done:

1) Installed DS
2) Defined the password using ldapcfg (ldapcfg -p passwd)
3) Created the LDAP DB2 instance (ldapcfg -l /home/ldapdb2)
4) Added the bits to the HTTP server to enable the web admin stuff. (tldapcfg -s ibmhttp -f /usr/HTTPServer/conf/httpd.conf)
5) Stopped and started the HTTP server
6) Started slapd

You didn't run any other ldap commands did you? For instance, using mksecldap to configure your ldap as an authentication server will overwrite your existing admin dn and password. Another good suggestion would be to use the gui which is the ldapxcfg command.

also, make sure you're prefixing your login with cn= e.g.
cn=admin
