Directory Replicator Error 13

We have directory replication setup to replicate a security file (actually a directory, but there's only one file in it), from one server to two other servers. All three servers are nt 4 servers and have Metaframe 1.8 on them. The directory replication was working fine for a while and then last week the two import computers stopped working. The error is Error 13 : The data is invalid. In the event log the event id is 3216 and the source is REPLICATOR. The export computer is working fine and all three use the same account. Whenever I try to open the replication button on server manager I get the same error message. I have tried changeing the password and still get the same error. If I put the wrong password in, I get a different error message. The Microsoft KB is not very helpful with this problem, so I am hoping someone here has some ideas....
