A samba server is installed. we are centralizing all file in to this new server. everyone in the office have their own user login. I have created a folder which can be read and write by everyone in the office. but when someone created a new directory within that folder no one other that the creator can seem to modify the items within that new directory.

how can I make all newly created directory within that shared folder modifiable by everone not just the creator?

thanx!

Hi,

Within samba config file, under share directory, why dont you create default umask of directory 0777 or whatever mode you are trying to do.

Restart samba server to take effect.
