I have a Mac G3 that used for graphic arts. When using Quark(graphic editing program). The computer is left running for a bit with a file open, it crashes.
When we reboot.. The whole directory is gone files and all.
It happened last week on a different file.
Any ideas why it would get deleted gone off the server?

Thanks
Peter

Mudflap,

I'd kinda like some more configuration/system info before I make a horses ass of myself...

What operating systems are you running?
How much RAm what processor on the G3?
You mentioned a server, is this a Mac file server you refer to? If so what's runnning there? AppleShare IP?
If it's not a mac server what environment IS it - windows NT?

Is the file you mention located only on the server aand not locally on your local desktop?

By "crashes" do you mean it freezes and you can not quit, move the cursor, etc? Or does the application unexpectedly quit and you are able to use the mouse and other applications normally?

I''ve got some thoughts on this but don't want to waste your trouble shooting time with useless drivvle.

Ok Here I go.

Its a G3, O.S 9.0, 320 mb ram.
The files are kept on a Unix/Sun Solaris Server box. With Apple Talk IP.

Yes, the computer freezes, can't move mouse. Must reboot.
When you reboot. The trash bin is open but there are
only directories all the files are gone.

Hope thats what you need.

Thanks for your time.

Peter
