Director with Visual Basic?

I'm creating an education program in Director and I wish to send the total score compute in Director to my database application created in Visual Basic. How can I do that?

You can wirte total score to .txt file using FileIO xtra
or they are many database xtras can import,retrieve
and export any format you like
I tyred V12 xtra. it is vrey good if you want to Read, write and create database inside dirctor.

You can also put activeX controls into Director so you could write you VB database as an activeX control and talk to it directly if V12 doesn't do what you want.

how do i do that? Does it takes a long time to create uing V12 xtra? I have the xtras but got no idea how to use it.

And what is the activeX control abt? How do I use it?

I hope you can explain in more detail because I am still new to Director. Your help will be deeply appreciated. Thanx.
