Director <->Flash MX

I am experiencing Macromedia Director just for few days. It is amazing tool. I am doing some project in Macromedia Flash MX and need somehow to use the getPixel function on footage and images imported or loaded to Flash. My main aim is to for e.g. to get RGB value of pixel depending to where the mouse pointer is. The problem is I would like to use as a source images and footage imported to Flash to do there some further interaction (I am much more familiar to Flash than to Director ) . What part is better to do in Flash and what in Director ?

You can do everything in Flash as long as the operation is achievable in Flash.
Since there's no "getPixel" method in Flash, you have to do this bit of operation in Director.

If I build this function in Director, how to transfer it to flash ? Do I need than the schockwave player to view the content ?

SWF will be embedded in Director. Then you can either create Projector (.exe) or Shockwave (.dcr).

If I choose Projector file, what are the pros and cons ? Will there be still included interactivity made by flash and director in the final output ?

Embedded SWF will retain all the interactivity you created in Flash.
