Hi Everyone,
Just installed Director 6 (unpatched as of now) on Windows XP Pro SP2, and am getting an error message when the program initializes that Director requires at least 10MB of virtual memory in order to run. I've tried running the Director executable in compatibility mode for 95, 98, 2000, and NT4, but with the same results. Other than installing the program on an older machine running Windows 98 or 95, are there any options I might try so I can get this running? Yes, I know I should have upgraded a long time ago, but, damn, Director's expensive! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

I found a solution on another forum. Increasing the virtual memory to 4000MB (both minimum and maximum) allows Director 6 to run under Windows XP Pro SP2, as well as on Windows 2000 SP4 -- seemingly, without a significant performance hit.
