Hi Legato Gurus!

I have Win2000 client and Unix server, both version 6.1.
I want to use the encryption and password protection
(or only password protection) for Win2000 client files
(should be supported, according to documentation).
It seems that the password and encryption setting for
the manual backup is running correctly. The password from NetWorker User->Options->Password is permanently set.
But if I want to use the directives for this functionality,
it seems to be incorrect.

I have this directive:

<<'c:\temp'>>
pw2: txt.txt
password 'xyz'

(Save Set is set to "c:\temp\*.txt")

The first problem is that no file Networkr.cfg is created
and I am not able to specify the encrypted password for
the "password" directive. If this directive is specified,
the scheduled backup, which is run as group gives this error message:

... save: 'password' directive takes exactly one argument, ignored

Not important if I use "password" without argument or with some string, the error message is the same.

The other problem is with the usage of "pw1" and "pw2" directives. The documentation says, that:

pw1: Encrypts and password-protects the specified files.
pw2: Allows for files to be enrypted and password-protected
using a different password than the one specified in
the pw1 ASM.

But, if pw1 is used, only password-protection (lock) is set
and during restore by Networkwr User, no password is
required. If pw2 is used, the encryprion and password
protection is set (bird) and during the restore the password
is required (the same which was set in Win Networker user,
which is probably correct).

I see two problems:

1. the directive "password" is incorrect
2. pw1/pw2 functionality is not according to documentation.

Please, be so kind, does anybody know, what is the problem ?
Any information is very appreciated!

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Jan
