I went to Windows Update page (I know, bad idea) and selected one of the suggested downloads of DirectAnimation. When I try to start the download, it comes up with a security warning asking if I want to run "C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\Cabs\4660\AXA.CAB". Even if I choose yes, it tells me that there is a problem and it wasn't loaded or installed.

I have deleted the file and tried installing again with the same results. Anyone know why this downloads from there and not the web?
I am using:
- Win98 (with most of the upgrades)
- IE 6 although the update page uses IE 5 in the URL

Ken,

The program wants to run from there, probably because a damaged file, (incomplete), by the correct name, is in that folder.
But take heart, there are a couple of things you can do:

1.) Delete the folder: "c:\program files\windowsupdate".
2.) Revisit the Windows Update page, and choose to "Show Installed Updates", to ensure that the Direct Animation update is NOT installed.
3.) Download again.

Let Me Know!
