Direct Voicemail button

We have just updated to a Definity a site from the Legend/Magix platform and are having problems getting a few features configured to similar operations.

We are using a G3 and Intuity and looking for a way to create a Direct Voicemail transfer similar to that simply available on the magix. Currently we have configured a hunt-group extension, with a coverage path to the intuity. The site has to depress the hunt calling button, then wait for audix to answer, enter the persons extension, then release the call. Is there any way that is easier than the route we have taken? The direct voicemail button on the legend seemed so much easier -> Button, Extension, Hangup. No waiting.

I think you are looking for the transfer to audix feature, if there is not a code administered you will have to put one there. it is in the features screen.

The transfer to audix feature puts you into the oringal persons voicemail box. i.e. if someone calls me, and want to be transfered to joey's mailbox when i dial the transfer to audix code, it will go to my vm box.

here is a link where they discussed this issue in length. Looks like your only real option is an auto attendant, but you still have to dial the persons extension after the aa answers.

I'm not sure if this will help but have you tried a goto cover button? It takes 1 programmable button for each phone that wants to transfer people directly to voicemail. Each station that has voicemail will also need the voicemail hunt group administered as the first point in their coverage path.

When you want to transfer directly to voicemail just add 1 step. Transfer - Extension - "Goto Cover" - Transfer. There maybe a short ring on the phone before it goes so you may want to make sure your getting into voicemail before you transfer the second time.
