Hi guys this may not be the right place but how many feed wires are there for hd direct tv's setop box I am thinking of dumping time warner but this is an old house and it nearly
impossible to snake new feeds in with out a giant hassle

I did run a single home run rg 6 u's to the 2 places were there would be a hd STB and are currently time warner hd boxes during renovations ???

Generally you need one cable from dish to each set top box. The Current basic HD dish for our area has a four-port multiswitch built in - so if you have fewer than four total set top boxes, you're in good shape. If you have more than four set top boxes, you'll need four cables between dish and multiswitch, then a cable from multiswitch to each set top box.

If you have a DVR and want to record something while you watch another live TV program, you'll need two cables from DVR to dish/multiswitch.

The direct box will take the same feed as the time warner box. But like mforrence says you'll have to extend that run all the way to the dish itself.
