The following will provide a button that will allow for direct trunk selection:

1) Login to ShoreTel Director with "Support Entry" (press and hold Ctrl+Shift and click on "User ID")

2) Create a Bridged Call Appearance
- Extension: Choose an extension to be used
- Backup Extension: Select a user or auto attendant in case nobody answers on an incoming call
- Switch: Select the Switch where the analog trunk will be connected
- Call Stack Depth: 1
- No Answer number of rings: 10
- Allow Bridged Conferencing: Use this if you want to allow users to barge-in to a call in progress.
- Save

3) Create a new Trunk Group and give it a good name so it can be referenced later.
- Destination: Enter the extension used in the Bridged Call Appearance in the previous step
- Outbound: Select this and enter an unused access code (I used 59)
- Local Area Code: Enter your local area code here
- Unselect all the Trunk Services and Trunk Digit Manipulation options
- Save, then click Cancel (to not assign this new trunk group to all user groups)
- Scroll down and click on Off System Extensions
- Click "New" and enter a new extension here
- Click "OK"
- In the Trunk Group Dialing Rules click on the Custom: Edit button and enter the code: ;G;1I
- Click "Save"

4) In Platform Hardware... -> Voice Switches / Service Appliances... -> Primary select the appliance where the analog trunk will be connected and select the newly created trunk group on the required Port and Save.

5) Under User Groups, allow required User Groups access to the new trunk group

6) For the Users who need a button for this trunk group, please accomplish the following:
- In Button Programming: Assign a Bridged Call Appearance with the following options:
- Label it how you want the button to appear on the phones
- Extension: Enter the BCA extension created earlier
- Call Stack Position: 1
- Ring Delay: <None> (this will force the call to ring immediately)
- In "Dial External", enter the Off System Extension used when creating the Trunk Group.
- Save

You are done!
When a user accesses this trunk, all other users who have this button will see the line in use (green). If you allowed bridged conferencing, then any user who has this button can access any call in progress.
If the call is put on hold, all users who have this button will see it on hold (orange) and can take the call off hold.

Thanks to user: Stephen_SCI on Shoretelforums.com for the help!!

THis is awesome. This was a major headache when migrating customers from key systems.
